School Emblem and Motto

Our school motto, Unity in Diversity is inspired by Saint Augustine who said, "Unity in essentials, freedom in non-essentials, and charity in all things." We come from different cultures with varying traditions but our faith unites us as one with same God- the Trinity.

(Cf. St. Augustine, Epistle 138, 3)

The emblem of the school carries great meaning. The quatrefoil on the outer edge is an ancient Christian symbol representing the four corners of the earth: North, South, East and West. This signifies that God is supreme. The symbol (ch - pronounced kai) which looks like the letter x, is actually related to the Greek symbol for Christ and reminds us of our origins in the Melkite Catholic Church. The lit candle prompts us to recall that Jesus is the light of the world and He who enlightens our minds and hearts.
